- Series: Walls, and How the Gospel Brings Them Down
These questions go with the sermon from May 16th on Ephesians 2:11-22. Click the notes tab to the left to download a pdf of the questions.
1. How did the sermon on racism encourage, convict, or challenge you?
2. Paul gives the church at Ephesus one command in this passage and that is "to remember" in verse 11. How will remembering the gospel daily help us to see ourselves differently? And how will it help us see the community around us differently?
3. According to Scripture, there is only one thing that can reconcile men to one another and to God. What is the one thing that brings true peace (verses 13-18)? And why do we build other walls (racism, economic status, education, hatred, self-righteousness, etc.) that divide the people of God?
4. Some authors believe that this is "perhaps the most significant eccesiological [about the church] text in the New Testament." What does this passage tells about the make up of Christ's church? And how do the pictures that Paul uses in verses 19-21 shape the way we see and live as the church?
5. Paul displays a glorious picture of the power of the gospel when he speaks about the church in Ephesians. How can Christ Fellowship Church strive to make this glorious picture a reality in our midst?
