These questions go with the sermon from November 1st on Mark 10:17-31. Click the notes tabs to the left to download a pdf of the questions.

1.How did the sermon on "Treasuring Christ" convict encourage or challenge you?

2. Jesus told the rich man that he lacks "one thing" but then tells him to do 3 things (sell his possessions, give to the poor, and follow Him). What did Jesus mean when he said you lack one thing? And how do we still miss that "one thing" today?

3. Mark tells us that the man went away sad because of his great possessions. Why do the things of this world have so much effect on our emotions, concerns, and our actions?

4. Jesus says in more than one way that it is impossible for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. What does this teach us about riches and the kingdom of God? What does this teach us about salvation?

5. Jesus promises that His true disciples will receive hundred-fold what they have left behind in this world and the next. Do we believe His promise to us?

6. Test Case: A brother or sister in Christ is having trouble treasuring Christ above all things. What areas would you look at in his life to see what he truly values? And how would you encourage him to desire Christ?
