Faithful & True.001

Let's be honest. Life is hard. Our struggles are deep. Our sorrows are many. And our suffering is real. The Christian life is not one free of trials. In fact, Jesus himself said that we would have many troubles in this life. The trials are going to come.

But we are not alone.

Peter tells us in 1 Peter 4:19 this — "Therefore let those who suffer according to God's will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good." We can suffer well as Christians knowing that God is faithful. 78 times the Bible tells us that God is faithful. His faithfulness is a rock that holds when everything else gives way.

Here are some of my favorite verses on God's faithfulness. May these verses lead you to trust in the faithfulness of God even when it's hard.

Exodus 34:6 — “The LORD passed before Moses and proclaimed, “The LORD, the LORD, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.”

Deuteronomy 32:4 — “The Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are justice. A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and upright is he.”

Psalm 36:5 — “Your steadfast love, O LORD, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds.”

Lamentations 3:22–23 — “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

2 Thessalonians 3:3 — “The Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.”

Hebrews 10:23 — “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.”

1 John 1:9 — “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Revelation 19:11 — “Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness, he judges and makes war.”
